With the upgrade of COVID19 to a Global Pandemic and the State of Emergency, people are beginning to worry more and look for ways to protect and prepare.
With orders from many states to institute social distancing, gathering bans, and travel restrictions in place, businesses are no doubt going to start to feel the impact. If they have not already. One of the first lines of defense we have as individuals and organizations are to practice Universal Precautions. Here is a list of some standard Universal Precautions designed to keep you and your team safe.
Wash hands for 20 seconds minimum after using the restroom, before and after eating and after touching your face.
Practice social distancing- keeping others 4 to 6 feet away from you when possible and avoiding large interactions. Do not shake hands or touch others unnecessarily.
Sanitize all surfaces with a bleach/water mixture at a 1:10 ratio routinely to minimize contact exposure.
Avoid sharing food, liquids, utensils, and other items in which bodily fluids could be shared.
If you have an employee that is exhibiting any of the symptoms associated with the virus (most notably fever of over 100.4) request them to stay home until 24 hours after the fever has dissipated.
If you or any of your employees have come in contact with an individual with a confirmed case of the Corona Virus keep them from your facility and request that they voluntarily quarantine for the suggested 14-day incubation window.
Advocate that employees avoid touching their faces when possible as to minimize the risk of surface exposure. You as well should work to minimize facial touching as well.
Follow CDC guidelines for gathering bans in your area and avoid large stores.
